Testing and tagging is sometimes referred to as; tagging, test tag, electrical tagging, appliance testing, test and tag or portable appliance test.

What Equipment Needs Testing in my Workplace?

All electrical equipment and RCD switches need OH&S safety compliance testing to ensure the National Work Health & Safety Regulations 2011 are obliged.

Download this Safe Work Australia PDF to read through the National Work Health & Safety Regulations 2011 and make sure your business is compliant and up-to-date with all testing and tagging standards.

How Frequently Do I Need To Test?

Testing of appliances varies from daily in extreme circumstances, to monthly, every three months, six months, yearly, every two years or every five years.

In the majority of business situations, testing is required yearly for some items or every five years for items used in low-risk environments.

Does our Safety Switch (RCD) need regular testing?

How Many Items Generally Fail Testing?

Experience and industry insight has shown us that roughly 5-10% of all appliances and items we test are deemed unsafe.

What is Microwave Radiation and why is it harmful?

Microwaves use radioactive energy to vibrate the water in food, which begins the cooking process. The radioactive energy produced can be very harmful when exposed to people and living tissues.

Slamming the microwave door, dirt or food particles caught in the door seals and hinges, or basic wear and tear all cause the appliance door to slightly separate from the main enclosure. Once this happens, invisible, but highly dangerous radiation can leak through the small space, causing damage and injury to the user.
